1. Your account
When you create a Snailbound account, you are responsible for all activity that happens under it and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. A single account can act as both a creator and a subscriber; you can switch roles from the sidebar, and the app remembers your last active role on your next visit. You must provide accurate information, including a valid email address, and you may not impersonate another person or create multiple accounts to evade restrictions.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Snailbound for unlawful activity, harassment, or to send physical mail that violates postal regulations or the terms of any postal carrier. You may not use the platform to distribute harmful, threatening, or abusive content, to spam prospective subscribers, or to misrepresent the nature of your club or mailing. Creators are responsible for ensuring that the physical items they send comply with applicable laws and shipping rules.
3. Payments and fees
Snailbound uses Stripe Connect Express so creators can onboard their own Stripe accounts. Subscribers are never charged immediately at checkout; we perform a $0 authorization and the first real charge happens on the club's next monthly billing date. Creators on the Free plan pay a 5% platform fee on transactions. Creators on the Pro plan pay $10 per month and no platform fee. You can join a club up to one day before its billing date; joining on the billing date rolls your first charge to the following month.
4. Subscriptions, skips, and pauses
Subscriptions can be active, paused, skipped, or cancelled. Creators may enable Club-Wide Skip (vacation mode) at least one day before the billing date. If a payment fails, the subscription is paused rather than cancelled, and limited-capacity tiers include a short grace period before the spot is released to the waitlist.
5. International shipping
Creators choose whether to offer international shipping and may add a surcharge, which appears as a separate line item. Subscribers are responsible for selecting a valid address; if you change a domestic address to an international one mid-cycle, the creator may require you to confirm the surcharge or cancel the subscription.
6. Messaging
Subscribers and prospective subscribers can message any creator through the in-app inbox. Messages are limited to 2,000 characters. You may not use messaging for harassment, spam, or unsolicited marketing.
7. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse rate limits, or engage in fraudulent behavior. Creators remain responsible for fulfilling obligations to active subscribers even if they choose to close their account.
8. Limitations
Snailbound provides tools for managing snail mail clubs; we are not responsible for the content of physical mail, delivery failures caused by postal services, or disputes between creators and subscribers beyond what our features can reasonably support.
